Another Deep Blue Compound
Here is another deep blue complex salt solution. The IUPAC name of this salt is potassium tetrathiocyanatocobaltate(II). I've made this complex from cobalt (II) nitrate and potassium thiocyanate solutions. The cobalt (II) nitrate solution is pink.
It becomes blue when potassium thiocyanate solution and some acetone are added.
