Getting That Fuzzy Texture Right
Hello Community
I am sharing this quick practice piece I made today. It's a holiday wreath, but the real point of this drawing is trying to figure out how to get that super textured, almost fuzzy look using digital brush. I wanted the greens to look like they really had some depth, by layering you know?
I started with just blocking in the dark circle, then added those lighter spiky layers for the pine needles. Some browns for pine cones then white sprays and I thought blue would bring in some more colors for the snowflakes. It was fun layering the yellows and blues to make the little accents pop out. I kept the red ribbon kinda loose so it didn't lose that spontaneous drawing feel.
I find it so interesting how much brushes can change the whole vibe of a sketch Hope you enjoy seeing the texture experiment like in the process images below
