Should we decentralise google?
Hello Steemians!
We all google. We google about Steem, what to eat, what to buy, and what not. All of our searches are being kept in a database which Google is using to target our perceptions and influence our decisions. Never before in history has one company controlled so much of the world's information. The fact is 77% of the searches worldwide are conducted on Google. That is the primary reason why advertisement companies are spending Trillions of dollars and shaping our perceptions by means of Google. It all seems to be great.. Fast, Accurate, Easy, and of course Free.
But behind the scenes millions are getting affected. These search results have the potential to completely change your view point, your political inclinations, your religious beliefs, basically the whole of you. This giant search engine operate in secrecy, and blur the lines between paid and organic content.
I believe it's time for change. There is a new decentralised blockchain based player in the market. Just like Steemit has changed the blogging world for the intellectuals. Presearch has the potential to change our searches, and provide the world an open to the giant closed search ecosystem.
