Week 14 Response - Understanding the Differences Between Political and Market Entrepreneurs

This post is in response to the question put forth by @julie.blank14, "What can we do as a nation to reduce to amount of political entrepreneurship in the US?".

The personal economic gain from political business in the United States has been around for a long time. It often has been hidden and disguised as other things. However, the fact of the matter is that the shameful business of political entrepreneurship isn’t going anywhere anytime soon in America. There’s simply no way to completely get rid of it.

The business of political entrepreneurship is basically illegal, but it is disguised as other things to make it seem better. Lobbyists are the main type of political entrepreneurs in the United States. The full definition of a lobbyist is a person employed for governmental affairs by another person or governmental group to lobby for that person or governmental group. The money that these lobbyists receive is hidden or written out for something else that they didn’t actually do for the money. Being a lobbyist is fully legal in the United States, but in my opinion, it is morally wrong.

Everything in the world is driven by money and politics are no different. This is a sad fact. The reality is that you have to have a great wealth to make it big in politics. There’s simply no possible way around it. You have to be able to pay the people working in political entrepreneurship. They are the ones to guide your campaign. As a result, most of the richest people who run for the presidency often get elected or get close to being elected just because of their tremendous wealth.

Our country was founded that the citizens should have a voice. A super-rich white male who’s never been through any kind of hardship isn’t the type of person that would be relatable to the citizens. In conclusion, the sad reality is that money runs our country and it’s too late for a change.
