Following feed broken?

I refresh my feed to see what my friends are saying. It briefly shows some current posts and then switches to show some old posts first. Is this sorted by curation? I don't see a sort button, but I want to see the newest posts. I am on android.

Update: my app gave me nothing just now and told me to change server and restart. I changed from rpc.ecency.com to one of the others listed on settings... now on hive.blog server and my feed looks fine to me.
