The bicycle
Sometimes it is amazing what we miss when we are out and about. I have lived in this town for more years than I am willing to admit to, and spent much time exploring its nooks and crannies.
On this particular day I wanted to get some images of a local barn which has been turned into a museum. But as is frequently the case with my photography, the subject was just not cooperating with the photographer.
In Exasperation, I eventually crossed the road to see if I could do something with a wide angle lens to try and improve on the basic building picture concept, as the museum was proving to be about the most boring thing (it's a great local museum though) I have ever tried to photograph. Then low and behold, there in the front garden of a house is this wonderful bike.
I have been past this house many times, both in the car and on foot, and never before have I seen this remarkable artifact (I truly don't know what else to call it). The creator obviously had, in addition to some remarkable creative skills, a very green thumb, and a lot of time and patience to create such a wonderful, unique, and intriguing piece.
Needless to say, a trip back across the road was required to get my gear before settling down to get a selection of images of this tree, or trees, which have been shaped into the form of a bicycle with lots of love and care.
Quite a remarkable feat, and one, which I think, is well worth preserving through a photograph.
