When Great Editing Becomes Predictable

I have watched quite a few videos from Internet Anarchist, and there is no doubt that the editing is impressive. Many creators have even started teaching narration and storytelling by breaking down that style because it keeps viewers engaged from beginning to end. The pacing, use of images, and ability to support the script visually are some of the strongest parts of the channel.

At the same time, after watching more of their recent videos, I started noticing a pattern. The constant panning, zooming, and repeated image movements begin to feel predictable. It is not that the animations are bad, but when almost every visual follows the same motion, they lose some of their impact. It could simply be the result of limited resources, where the editor has to reuse the same clips or work with whatever material is available for the story.

For me, the editing is still among the best on YouTube, but it feels different from channels like Veritasium. Veritasium often builds custom animations and motion graphics that are designed specifically for the topic being explained, making every scene feel unique. Internet Anarchist has an excellent editor with a great sense of pacing, but the videos rely more on editing existing assets than creating new visual experiences from scratch.
