Orthetrum sabina

Orthetrum sabina is what it is called in scientific language for this type of animal that controls the ecosystem, or in local language it is better known as the army dragonfly, why is that? because the color of this dragonfly is similar to the Indonesian army uniform.

This type of dragonfly likes to live a solitary life or more specifically, being alone. This dragonfly's diet usually includes butterflies, leaf lice, leafhoppers, bees and it is not uncommon for these soldier dragonflies to prey on other dragonflies of a different type.

Army dragonflies are very easy for us to find, they can be scattered around us, in our yards, gardens, rice fields and also forests. Just like what I found today, he perched on one of the trees in my yard.

Even though this dragonfly has a small body, it turns out to be very useful, because it is able to balance the ecosystem.
