It's a good one to be writing on this week's prompt which requires us talking about the story behind our username on Hive.

The story behind my username goes as far as before I was even introduced to join Hive. It was crafted from the time I was in secondary school.
Back in those days in secondary school, there is this common thing among students to customize their names, giving it another mode of writing or having an acronym of the first letters of all their names or an abbreviation somehow.
So then I did mine too and tried putting all the first letter of my names out together to form a new name. I tried it in different dimensions from my first name to last name, middle name and other but it wasn't giving me the vibe I wanted until I decided to rearrange everything and I eventually got what I wanted and finally arrived at HAMOK

The name HAMOK became my nickname throughout my secondary school days and after then because I was already known with it and also made it part of me. I also love the pronunciation and the sound of it whenever I am being called by it. Though my family doesn't call me with it.

HAMOK reigns on all my social media accounts and as at the time I wanted to create my business name, I decided to add Stitches to the HAMOK making it HamokStitches. The stitches was added due to the nature of my business, to give a coded description of what I do even when I'm not physically or virtually present to explain what I do or what my business is all about. My business name should be able to speak for me in my absence.

So when I decided to join Hive, I searched through my mind on what name to use and I couldn't find any better username to use than my one and only precious and usual username Hamokstitches and that was it.
Considering the fact that Hive is a place for creativity, I was ready to bring it in with full force for all my offline creativity and designs, by starting with my username.

One of the things I love and do excite me most about the name HAMOK is how curious people who come across my name are. They always want to know the meaning of how I came about such name because its so rare to see a replica of such username around. You can easily predict the meaning to people's username but mine is different so it makes me feel special.

If I had the chance to change it, will I ? Ohhh that's a question! (smile). Well, I probably might change the stitches in future if I want to rebrand my business name but definitely not tampering with my HAMOK.

Hamok is me and I am Hamok so it can't be changed.
