As it is now 2026, the trees have grown bigger which afforded some coverage from the farmyard where the dogs were giving the odd "woof". I had my monthly shower earlier and post wetness slathered myself in the fresh scent of BRUT for men, so that might confuse them. Does anyone else miss Hai Karate? take the kid out of the 70's but never then 70's out of them kid.

Abenbury Church was built in the grounds of Cefn Park, the ancestral home of General Sir Roger Palmer in 1894 by his wife to celebrate his return from the Crimean War. Palmer was involved in The Charge of the Light Brigade.

I have been meaning to take a look at this place for years, but I guess I am just a lazy arse, as it is only about 3 miles from my house! Now I am here no flimsy barbed wire is gonna stop me.

It is known locally as the "Tin Tabernacle", though only the roof is of corrugated metal. the rest of the structure is brick and timber.

Bethel Presbyterian Church, Abenbury Fawr, to give it its full title, catered only for a small congregation made up of members of the rural hamlets nearby.

Parish records detail that in 1883 there were only 25 worshippers and that number had dropped to just 14 by 1930. The last records date to 1939, when it is believed the building was last used.

On the Southern gable end the remains of some fantastic stained glass still remained in situ

Luckily the church is right next door to one of the Estate's farms or some unscrupulous scrote would prise them out to flog on Dickinson's Real Deal

It is standing the test of time

I wonder when the vicar last played with his organ
