Raudfeldsgja Gorge

In west Iceland, there are all sorts of natural features that you can go take a look at. One of them is the Raudfeldsgja Gorge on the Snaefells peninsula. Basically, this is a huge crack in the mountain that you can go into.

I am quite near the end of my Iceland blog and at the end of our time there the weather started to look wintery. Mountains were mostly under the snow cover and on a zero sea level, there was not yet any snow. Here are the shots I took at the Raudfeldsgja Gorge.

To get to the gorge we needed to hike up the hill a bit, very soon we walked on the snow already.
This is the gorge itself.

Does not look that massive but in person, it's quite something.

Here are some more landscape shots I took when out of the cave.

Next week, on Tuesday I will be going to the Czech Republic, the country in Central Europe if some of you haven't heard about it. I am going to see a music festival Let It Roll with a couple of friends, it's a drum and bass festival. We will be arriving a couple of days early and doing some exploring in Prague the capital. On the next day, the plan is to rent a car and go to Bohemian Switzerland national park, a gorgeous mountainous region.

The problem is that the national park has some wildfires going on and a hell of heat is forecasted, up to +37C so we need to see if we even can do any hiking or will stay next to the lake all day somewhere. Will take loads of shots there as well.
