Now That was a Sunset!
It's been a long while since my last sunset-specific post. I love chasing the glowing sunsets like these, but this time of year, I have very few opportunities to do so. Yesterday I finally got it!
About half an hour before sunset, I noticed the sky had clear patches. This is a great recipe for a possible glowing sunset. I decided to quickly drive to the beach so I could maybe capture the sky. I'm glad I got what I hoped for.
The horizon was clear enough so that the sun got to shine on the clouds from below and create this color play on the clouds.
Yesterday was also the shortest day of the year. Only about 6 hours of daylight in total during the 24 hours. The sunrise was 9.18 and the sunset was 15.17. Now the days are starting to get longer again day by day. Today the day is 7 seconds longer than it was yesterday😄.
I had a short walk along the shoreline while taking these photos of the sunset. The wind was pretty strong at the beach and my fingers got stiff quite quickly holding my camera.
Here are some more photos I took on my walk at the beach. Enjoy!
I'm really hoping the next year will also bring the real winter. Thus far, the temps have been mostly above zero. This is really unusual for us not to see any real snowfall this far into the season. I can't wait to go out in nature to take some winter shots with deep snow, cold weather and sunshine. How is winter in your area?
