A Lights Festival
Every year here in Estonia, in the capital of Tallinn, we have an event. Lights event or something. I don't even know how to say it in english. Basically here is a ton of led lighting, lasers and prjectors set up. Casting lights in the air, to the walls and on the trees. This is done in the dark so all the lights can be seen.
It sounds boring but it's actually cool to see. Oh, its also free!
I decideded to go there and have a walk through the light decorated areas. On this pond you see in the first photo... They held a show there. Lights, water fountains and all, I missed it though. It ended just as I arrived. No worries, there was still more to see. Here I have some photos I took on the walk in the park.
All the photos I took, were taken with a phone. I wanted to bring my camera but had some other plans to go hang out in the city later so I left it at home. My phone did quite a great job in the dark I have to say.
This should be a video, but it will do. The lasers were coded to dance on the house with a millimetre precision. This is a building where the president of Estonia lives by the way.
And the back yard of the mansion. I loved the candle setup and the natural light a lot. Would have been good to take photos without the hordes of people on them, but that was impossible unfortunately.
The nearby park was full of lights that changed regularly. I tried to make out, what forest hue do I like the most. I have to say that the orange looked the best in my opinion. Maybe because it resembles the vivid warm fall colors.
A little bit of laser action. I put my phone into the laser beam. The shadow you see in the middle, is my phone.
The purple color looks really good too. The thing is that purple is my favorite color, so I always like to see it.
More colorful trees for you to see!
It was a nice event but not as great as the last ones I have seen in the previous years. Yes, there were a lot of colors and some shows but so few attractions really. I hoped to see some structures or creativeness of people, like the last times but it was only lights.
If you happen to want to travel to Estonia and see it the next year. Then book the end of September for it, because the 2026 light event happens around then most likely.
