I think a button to activate or deactivate the daily play-to-earn matches would be very useful.

Why?
Because when you want to play ranked matches to test decks, if you play the new formats and do the 10 daily matches there, you're limited since you have to play them first before you can play ranked.
Because if you didn't do the daily matches, they'll count when you play ranked.

For example, I currently have 7 daily matches left to play, and if I want to play ranked for fun... I can't because I'd lose shards playing there, and I have to play in the format first.

I know there's casual mode, but in my opinion, it's useless since you get matched with very low-ranked players. And we have the Direct Challenge, but of course, you already need to have friends to play with, and that's a different issue.
So, if people could deactivate play-to-earn as they wish, it might even be a good thing.

I don't know if there would be any problem with doing that. Even on a ranked weekend... you can disable play-to-earn mode and play the ranked games without being affected by the first-to-lose score.
So I think the inability to activate play-to-earn mode is a limitation.
