Today I’m sharing a day that was packed with commitments, and I had to get organized to meet them all.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I work on a construction site as a resident engineer, and every day brings many different challenges. Today, in particular, I was receiving materials: concrete blocks and plumbing supplies. I found this little stuffed worker sleeping on the job and took the opportunity to snap a photo.

I was inspecting the metalwork on the roofs of the homes. There, we need to make sure the weld beads are well done, free of porosity, and that all structures have their respective weld beads.

I also checked the concrete slabs and interior finishes of the homes. I discovered a leak in a toilet’s graywater pipe that was causing moisture on the walls of one of the homes.

I still needed to pick up a piece of furniture we’d ordered from a carpenter, and we’d agreed to go get it last week, but it wasn’t until today that I was able to arrange the right transportation to bring it home. So around noon, after lunch, I headed to the Bolívar neighborhood in Barquisimeto to bring the furniture back to my house. It was quite heavy, and it took several of us to carry it up and down the stairs.

The design for this piece of furniture was the brainchild of my daughter and my wife, who wanted something that would work in the kitchen and also serve as a breakfast nook. We were quite pleased with the result.

In the afternoon, I was back at the construction site, and when I left, I went home to shower and get ready because at 6 p.m. there was a rosary for those who died in Caracas as a result of the earthquake. On the way to Barquisimeto, I didn’t want to miss the beautiful sunset visible from the road, so I captured it in two photos. This is why Barquisimeto is known as “the city of twilights.”

I arrived late for the rosary, but in time to pray the last mysteries. The entire parish community was gathered there in front of the church with their candles lit.
It was a very moving moment, with sad songs sung between each mystery, and at the end, after the priest’s prayer, they sang the song “Venezuela.” It’s a song that touches you to the core and brings tears to your eyes.

That’s how this eventful day came to a close. I hope to see you all again sometime.

Un agitado día con un bonito cierre

Saludos estimados amigos de esta comunidad Hive account@dailyblog, les deseo lo mejor en esta semana cn mucha salud y bienestar.

Hoy les presento un día con bastantes compromisos y que tuve que organizarme para poder cumplirlos.

Como ya les he dicho en anteriores publicaciones, trabajo en una obra como ingeniero residente y cada día se presenta con muchas variantes. Hoy particularmente estuve recibiendo materiales: bloques y materiales de plomería. Descubrí a este pequeño obrero de peluche durmiendo en el trabajo y aproveché de fotografiarlo.

Estuve inspeccionando los trabajos de herrería en los techos de las viviendas, allí hay que estar pendientes de los cordones de soldadura, que estén bien hechos, sin porosidad y que todas las estructuras tengan su respectivo cordón.

También chequeando el vaciado de los sobrepisos y acabados en el interior de las casas. Descubrí una fuga en una tubería de aguas blancas de un WC que estaba ocasionando humedad en las paredes de una vivienda.

Tenía pendiente retirar un mueble que le encargamos a un carpintero y habíamos quedado en buscarlo la semana pasada, pero no fue hasta hoy que pude conseguir el transporte adecuado para traerlo. Así que en horas del mediodía, luego del almuerzo, me dirigí al barrio Bolívar de Barquisimeto a trasladar el mueble hasta mi casa. era bastante pesado y tuvimos que montarlo y bajarlo entre varios.

El diseño de este mueble fue idea de mi hija y mi esposa que querían algo que sirviera en la cocina y además utilizarlo como desayunador. Quedamos bastante conformes con el trabajo.

En la tarde, nuevamente en la obra y al salir llegué a casa a bañarme y arreglarme porque a las 6 pm había un rosario por los difuntos que cayeron en Caracas a causa del terremoto. De camino a Barquisimeto no quise pasar por alto el hermoso atardecer que se veía desde la vía y lo capté en dos fotografías. Por esta razón a Barquisimeto se le conoce como "la ciudad de los crepúsculos".

Llegué tarde al rosario, pero a tiempo para rezar los últimos misterios. Allí estaba reunida toda la comunidad parroquial frente al templo con sus velas encendidas.
Fue un momento muy emotivo, con canciones tristes entre misterio y misterio y al final, luego de la oración del sacerdote, cantaron la canción: Venezuela. Un tema que llega hasta los huesos y provoca lágrimas en los ojos.

Así fue el cierre de este agitado día. Espero encontrarnos en otra oportunidad.
