Individual Responsibility
There is a common misconception in our society about children suffering for the mistake of their parent. It is quite sad that it has become a norm is so many communities, as relatives and friends are eager to take vengeance on the innocent kids that were victim of their parents action. The common justification that i hear people give is ; ” that what ever the parents did, that the children were the direct beneficiary of the proceed”.
However, they say that history repeats itself because we ignorantly fail to learn from its rich abundance facts. The book of Ezekiel 1, verse 1 has this to tell us.
“The One Who Sins/ offends will have to take responsibility for his action”
18 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel:
“‘The parents eat sour grapes,
and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?
3 “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. 4 For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.”
On a final note, Please do not punish a child for the crimes of his or her parents, Just as it is written in the scripture.
