Cervantes
Hola Coinlovers,
This post is not about famous hiver (named after the writer) but about a new issued coin portraying the famous Don Quixote de la Mancha.
I studied 4 years Spanish at the Instituto de Cervantes in the Netherlands (Utrecht) so my eye caught this coin immediately.
all 3 pictures copied from agaunews a promoter of new issues
One can say that the writer of this book, Cervantes (written in 1605) was the Shakespeare of Spain. If you have not read the book of Don Quixote you can maybe once go to a play. This tells the story in a couple of hours. I did not read the book myself but attended a play. Culture!!
La Mancha is a Provence in Spain a little North of where I have my second home by the way....
Details of the coin that is minted by T&S coins.
The coin is a high relief coin like their earlier issues. I will sho one below from an earlier date also from agaunews. The Katana coin.
Enjoy the coins. Buying will be hard as the montage is limited and the price often very high. Like 300-400 USD....
Hasta luego
