Mitrovac on Tara
Hello dear friends.
Today I'm writing to you about another national park of Serbia, which is Mount Tara.
One of the benefits of my profession, the job of a teacher, is traveling with children. Every year, we take the children on one-day trips and to Nature Education for 7 days. I already wrote about Tara, but about one of her works called Kaludjerske bara. Today I am taking you on a tour of the part of Tara called Mitrovac.
It is part of Tara mountain and protected by law. In the vicinity of Mitrovec is Lake Perućac on the Drina and Lake Zaovina. The richness of this part of Tara is also known in Europe as the "Meadow Carpet", which was really a miracle for me. When you stand on that meadow you feel as if it is moving under your feet. I can't describe the feeling - you feel a little uncomfortable, and later you are in disbelief.
A resort with the same name was built in Mitrovac in cooperation with the Center for Children's Resorts. The whole complex has a hotel and pavilions that are connected to each other by a concrete path. We were in the pavilion closest to the hotel called "Sunce". A huge area for children to play, a meadow, a forest, a memorial fountain, a cinema, a natural history museum, as well as the Owl's forest classroom, represent content that is really intended for children, but there are also a lot of adults that we saw staying there, because there are also several weekend houses and bungalows that were built there.We enjoyed our stay in the air where the Wind Rose is. The breeze blows every day and that's why walking in Mitrovec is a real pleasure.
Near the resort there is also a souvenir shop, a pastry shop - their pancakes are excellent, and there is also a house of old crafts. The children were able to try out how to knit, weave, and knit, and what they made themselves, they took with them.
What most adorns Mitrovac and the resort is Pančić's spruce, a coniferous tree unique in Europe. The "Friendship Bridge" was built next to it, and on one of the spruces are written the words of Josif Pančić, which reads: "There is a belief that this spruce fulfills wishes. Anyone who wants to, slowly approach the spruce, spread out his palm, touch the tree, close his eyes and think of a realistic wish. The wish will surely come true provided you don't tell anyone what you thought. Even when you sleep, be careful not to rave (talk in your sleep). Feel Tarski!"
Every day, my students went and imagined a wish. I sincerely hope that their every wish will come true.
And now, my wish... I would like you to come to Serbia, to visit every part of it, every mountain, river, spa... because we are a hospitable people, and Serbia is a beautiful country.
