Mobile internet use passed desktop long ago
More users around the world are accessing the internet from mobile devices than from desktop computers. Mobile web browsing has been steadily growing since 2009, while the desktop’s share of web traffic has steadily decreased. In 2017, global mobile and tablet browsing accounts for 63% versus the desktop’s 37%, according to the latest data from web analytics firms. The balance between the two was first disrupted in 2015, and that was a huge moment for the web overall: this meant going forward, companies that hadn’t yet decided to focus on a mobile-first approach to their internet services and web properties now were more likely to do so, as the trend line was hardly probable to reverse. Mobile compatibility of websites became increasingly important. Despite following a similar downward trend, the desktop is still king in some parts of the world, but it seems only a matter of time.
The fact that with the introduction of smartphones and very quick Internet access our life has absolutely changed is undeniable, nowadays we cannot leave our home without phones because we always have to be online, whether it is a chat with your friends or some business emails. But, unfortunately, we have to pay a good sum of money for mobile data… or we don’t? Global Wasp questions that statement. Now you can have Internet access totally for free just by watching ads, when the Internet you use is in fact other users’ mobile traffic. Want to find out more? Click www.globalwasp.com
