ENG

Good morning everyone, today I would like to share with you my personal experience in using jasmine as a phytotherapeutic remedy.

Description: climbing shrub.

Minimum cultivation temperature: -10 °C.

Balsamic period: July.

Toxicity: low, may cause gastrointestinal disorders.

Do not take Jasminum officinalis supplements during pregnancy and breastfeeding, always consult a doctor before taking herbal preparations based on this plant.

Beneficial properties: sedative and cough reliever.

Active ingredients: linalool and benzoic acetate.

PREPARATIONS

Infusion: prepared with 15 g of fresh flowers per 100 ml of water for the sedative function.

Mother tincture: prepared with 15 g of fresh flowers, macerated for 21 days in 100 ml of 86° hydroalcoholic solution. The filtrate can be preserved for 3 years, 100 drops per day for the beneficial functions.

NOTE

It should not be confused with the false jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides.

Jasmine is a flower linked to esotericism, it is said that it protects from evil spirits; it was also known in ancient times as a powerful amulet; small fragments of petals have also been found in Egypt, in the necropolis of Deir-el-Bahri.
