Giving life

I’ve prepared displays featuring my cacti and succulents to showcase them to the public now that Mother’s Day is approaching.

Most of my cacti and succulents are plants that are easy for hobbyists to care for and propagate. Anyone interested in starting a cactus and succulent collection can choose from these species and begin their collection without worrying about losing plants during the care process.

Of course, they all have minimum requirements that must be met to keep them in good condition. Some need direct sunlight to maintain their characteristics. Others require bright light but not direct sunlight, and still others need only partial shade, since direct sunlight and its radiation would burn them gradually or in a single exposure.

All are plants that require very little water to meet their minimum needs; others, however, thrive on water, and still others can go a long time without water and remain healthy nonetheless.
Both cacti and succulents store a great deal of water in their stems or leaves.

You also shouldn’t skimp on the minimum requirements for their growing medium, which must be sufficiently aerated for them to grow effectively. The growing medium should contain compost, a minimum amount of black soil, a larger amount of coarse sand, coconut coir, and a little organic fertilizer such as worm castings.

If you follow these tips, you're sure to have beautiful plants that can be easily propagated with success.

See you next time. That’s all for today in my garden.
