Learning More About Blender
Hello everyone.
Haven't posted in a while. My work on making maps has halted for quite some time now. I've just lacked the motivation for it.
Hopefully i can get it back soon, as i still enjoy it very much.
Instead, I've started to focus on 3D modelling, so I've been learning more about Blender, for the past couple of months; participated in a challenge last month, where we had to make a new model per day, and it's really helpful to participate in these kind of challenges.
Because, firstly, you get to engage with other people working with the same tools as you. Secondly, you can practice a lot, repeating the same things every day, consolidating what you know; and learning what you don't know. Which is vital.
So, yeah. A idea for people out there wanting to learn something; find a place where you can participate in a challenge, work daily, share results, and you'll improve!
Anyways, thought I'd make a post about what's up, and share some of the models i did for the challenge.
I happened to run into this challenge. I had joined a discord server for a YouTube channel that taught Blender, hopefully to learn more there about Sub-Division workflow (because i wasn't modelling that way), and the challenge was made from a user on the discord.
Although i wanted to work on some models i had started earlier this year, and with my new knowledge of modelling, i went into the challenge anyway, because i would get to practice the stuff i had been learning.
Postponed work, to learn, to be better at it. It might not occur to everyone, or, they might not feel like they need to, but it does pay off to learn! I've started to model things way quicker, after just a month, because of this challenge.
I'm currently now doing a two week challenge, working on a robot. The challenge is to do a robot in a punk setting of our choice; cyberpunk, dieselpunk, solarpunk, etc.
And the modelling is almost done, so I'll post the result here when it's finished, and more about Blender, as i learn and work more with it!
I hope you'll be interested in reading and learning as well!
Or, if not, as least enjoy looking at the pictures!
