Space, A Poem

So it's wrapping up soon, but I figured I'd give it one last try. At last count I was ONE VOTE from being tied for tenth place! If anyone out there is willing to go to see-it-feel-itHive account@see-it-feel-it 's post https://steemit.com/fundition/@see-it-feel-it/09a31afa and vote for me!

Anyway, here is another poem I wrote just out of college, exploring these and cleaning them up has been an interesting exercise.

Gracious, I was,
and sensitive too,
as I understand the words.

Still something was missing,
a physicality,
a hunger of sorts.

Not that I didn’t feel it,
but I was afraid,
and she never knew.

Or, perhaps, she knew,
but my fumbling performance,
evidenced to her no appealing technique.

At first I didn’t ask,
because I was
wary,
afraid,
to scare her away.

Or confirm my apprehensions
once and for all.

Gradually the void, it grew until
I found that what I thought
was meaningful silence,
was really a lack
of something ,
anything,
to say.

True devastation
the revelation
that I couldn’t pretend anymore.
