Forest is waking up !🍂🌼

Hello everyone! ❤️🌳🍂🌺
The time has come for our forests in Croatia to wake up and show us the little details they prepare for us every year before the actual spring. The weather is still cold, but sunny for days. Dominik and I went to mountain Medvednica before 2 weeks to climb to top and look for plants that show their beautiful existence before everything other does.

We were climbing slowly because we wanted to really enjoy and talk about nature. Well we went to Medvednica a lot of times but it is never enough, you always see something new.

It seems from the first two photos like the nature is sleeping but it is because the forest that grows on higher altitudes later start to grow leafs, that is because the temperature is colder and trees needs to wait a little bit longer.
But on the forest soil that is full of fallen leafs you can find the first flowers.

This is a fungi that we found on one of the trees but we don't know the name of the species, so if you recognize this one let us now in comment.

One plant that wants to show their beauty earlier is Dog tooth lily (Erytrhonium dens-canis L. ). This species is know for mountain areas in forests of sessile oak and beech and is really popular for their purple flower. This flower is so fancy with this color defying the brown colors that predominate on the ground and that is the reason they are very easy to find.

This three flowers of Dog tooth lily still waited to open.

One part of the way there was a little bit of snow, not much but it was nice to see it, because this winter there wasn't that much of a snow in this parts of Croatia.

Few photos below are from few days ago when I went with one subject from university to Dotršćina forest (part of Medvednica mountain but in lower altitudes), we had a job to count the litter of spongy moth or better know as gypsy moth ( although this name is no longer used at least I think ).

Here I found common Lungworth, the other species that tells us that the spring is coming our way.

And last one well known Spring Crocus. This flower is so cute and they grow like in this little groups telling us : Come, come see me, I am so pretty!

So now all it is left for us is to wait for nature to show us everything she has to offer and shows us all the beauty.
