Tim Walz - An Unexpected VP Pick

I've been reading some news stories about the choice of Kamala Harris for VP. Tim Walz wasn't on my radar, but I'm intrigued by what he brings: teacher, coach, National Guardsman, an unusual background for a politician. It's refreshing to have real-world experience beyond law and politics in that sort of position.

What really got my attention was Walz's forthright way of talking about Republicans. When he said, "these guys are just weird," it cracked me up. I like a no-nonsense politician. Maybe it is precisely this kind of straight-shooting style that Democrats need in today's cacophonous political scene.
