A Saturday Blessing

Was in town this morning to serve in the Mass of the Solemnity of The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary in Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist. It was a beautiful celebration and felt really good to be able to receive the Eucharist in person.

After Mass, we were naturally hungry and thought of having our usual Indian vegetarian food in Sangheeta's (awesome food there btw!). We got side tracked by a Chinese shop selling curry mee as we were walking from the Cathedral towards the Lebuh Ampang area. We changed our minds and decided on a change of cuisine this time.

The first slurp of the curry mee soup took me back to Kuala Kubu Bahru. My late grandmother used to take me to her friend's shop for curry mee. I got addicted to curry mee since five years old. Curry mee is all about the soup and this one in KL is old school - both in look & taste. Cost RM 6. The iced coffee Ipoh style cost RM 5.

After breakfast, we walked across the road and stopped by a cafe called Kleptokrat. We were intrigued by the name. We checked out the menu to see if we will want to eat there the next time.

2 doors away there is a cafe named Timothy. We saw cakes and they looked yummylicious 😋 The carrot cake called to me. Buy me! Eat me! 🤣

The cakes are made in Kleptokrat said the person who served us when I asked if he bakes them.

We got 2 🥕 carrot cakes and 1 🍋 lemon poppy seed cake to go. We were happy puppies after that. The next time we're in town for Mass we will definitely have our breakfast at Timothy's.

Brought the carrot cake home and enjoyed it with @davidke20 at home. The carrot cake was really good. It's moist but not mushy. I could taste the freshness of the carrots and walnuts. And I love the hint of orange (it could be lemon but it smelled and tasted more like orange 🍊 to me). Verdict is I will definitely eat it again!
