Everyday geometry: Beauty from above
Sometimes we pause in our daily lives, briefly, perhaps just for a nanosecond, and realize how complicated, fast, and random everything around us has become. This roundabout, seen from above, embodies this realization for me. From below, it's simply a traffic junction; from above, it's this beautiful, peaceful art form, symmetrical, flowing, harmonious.
The roads that cross this place are like life itself. Some lead in new directions and straight ahead, some meander, some don't intersect, even though they lie next to each other. And then, in the middle, where you would normally only see a planted hill or a traffic sign, there is a small piece of nature. Untouched by the whirlwind of arrivals and departures.
Perhaps this is what we need more of: perspective. Distance. Taking time to look at things from a different point of view. What seems banal in our daily lives can be extraordinarily beautiful when placed in a different (slanted) position and at a different angle. Thank you for stopping by!🙃✌️
