Qc Community Contest #173
Good day to everyone
Welcome to the month of February, the month of love and plenty awwwn 🥰
I'm excited to participate in this week's contest and here's my pov.
Agreements are meant to guide human relationships, but marriage, to me, is deeper than written terms. There is something in me that does not truly like prenuptial agreements. I believe that when two people agree to marry, they must have taken time to study each other and reach a level of compatibility, at least sixty percent. Perfection is not expected, but something close to it should be acceptable. Marriage should be built on trust, patience, and shared understanding, not fear of failure.
To me, a prenuptial agreement feels like saying, “I am marrying you, but I am already preparing for the day we may separate.” It sounds like entering a contract that is ready to expire at any moment. Sometimes it even feels like a business deal, as if one is buying land or property, rather than choosing a life partner. Because of this feeling, I am strongly against it in principle.
However, we live in a very funny world, where people change and strange things happen. Good intentions today do not always guarantee good actions tomorrow. Some people hide their true nature, and some situations appear without warning. In such a world, a prenuptial agreement can serve as protection, not because love is weak, but because humans are unpredictable.
If I were asked to sign one, I would do so with caution and honesty, clearly stating boundaries and expectations. Not because I expect the marriage to fail, but because safety sometimes must walk beside love. It would be done with mutual respect.
Thanks for reading through...... Kisses 🥰
