MY FIRST CROCHETING.

I have been following the many posts of the amazing needleworkers here and each time, I'm amazed at how something beautiful can be made out of something. I've always watched my wife crotchet some little things at home but, she doesn't really take it so serious.

I asked her to teach me, so I could at least, be able to try out something new. The teaching process wasn't easy at first and I even told her I wasn't going to continue. However, she encouraged me, telling me that I would get used to it and eventually begin to enjoy it. I guess she was right. My patience paid at the end and I was able to learn more about crocheting.

Walk with me as I show you the steps I took in achieving this. I would also appreciate your corrections as this would help me improve, as well. I hope to get better, with time.

I started off by making this part as I wanted to make a short for my baby. 😅

Then, I proceeded to adding the sides. I totally forgot to capture that. But, here is the result of the front side of the short.

Then, I made the back side, too. I learned that the backside is usually bigger than the front.

After which I joined them together.

After that, I proceeded to join the two parts together, so we could form a short. I added another colour because the initial colour finished. I don't know if this is a good colour combination, BTW. But, it looks good to me.

The joining process wasn't really easy and my fingers were beginning to hurt me. But since I had set my mind to do this, I was willing to complete it. I believe I didn't come this far to quit when I was already reaching the finishing point. Haha.

And, voila, this is the final look.

I feel this isn't 'perfect' as I had imagined it would have been. But being my first time, I think it's okay not to bite myself. I believe there's need for improvement. I will be getting more materials so I can crotchet more.

I tried it on my daughter and this was how it looked on her.

What do you think?

I am open to corrections and I am willing to learn more, too. Thank you for being patient till the end. Thank you for reading through.

All images are mine.
