Drawing Process: Hearts and Coins

Here is a step by step process of my drawing for the essay On Hearts And Coins, published to my website aggregationalism.com.

After roughing the outline of the table I begin to illustrate the first of many coins.

Here I leaned forward to adjust some the coins, for better aesthetic effect. Which pennies did I move? No idea. Maybe the video will show.

Some more coins, plus details, as well as the beginnings of the coin jar. It's at this point that I stopped trying to match every coin. It's not a photo, after all.

More coins, more detail, more jar. Yes.

Add the legs and we have ourselves a drawing.

Here we see the final product. The video is a sped up time lapse and what's interesting is that the camera seems to have picked up the rhythm of my breathing while strapped to my chest. The video has an original MIDI song that I created, and my breathing matches the music fairly well. That's some extra entertainment value for your upvote.

You may also note that the dimensions on the jar aren't as wonky once the page is set aright. Just when you thought the perspective was all wrong, it was really only sort of wrong. That's the kind of edifying discovery that following my channel will surely provide.

Also, big thanks to my other pen, just sitting there on standby in my left hand. That's the kind of loyalty and support that pretty much guarantees success! Because when the other hand knows its place everything works out for the best, it really does.
