US President Joe Biden spoke by telephone with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden gave Putin a warm message, sidestepping the flexible stance of his predecessor, President Donald Trump, towards Russia.
This is the first time Joe Biden has spoken to a US president since he was sworn in as US president. White House sources say Joe Biden has expressed concern about the arrest of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and other issues, including cyber espionage.
