Contest: Draw it Better #17 My entry- Marceline

The process

The Idea
It was very difficult for me to find a character but I choose Merceline from Adventure Time. Later I noticed that @ladymaharet made also a very nice version of Marceline. I already had a sketch but thought about looking for a new character. I decided to go on with Marceline because different versions of a character from different artist can be interesting too.

After I had my sketch I started with lineart.

Than I added flat colors to the lineart.

Greyscale for light and shadow. Normaly I do shadow and light directly in the flat color layer but I wanted to test this way of coloring

Final Version of Merceline with Background. I wish I had found the contest earlier, then I would have had more time for the coloration
