I didn’t go looking for this song. It found me on a Tuesday evening when I was just trying to drown out the noise in my head with something soft. Ebuka Songs started singing, and the first line I really heard was:

I had to pause. “O.” That little Nigerian inflection made it feel like he was talking to me, like he was in the room and couldn’t believe what he was saying either. Overwhelming. Not calm. Not neat. Overwhelming. Like a wave you don’t try to swim against because you know you’ll lose.

Then he hit the part that’s been stuck in my chest ever since:

“You goodness is my lifter, everywhere I go, everywhere I turn, I see your faithfulness each day. This kind love I’ve never seen.”

I played it again. And again. Not because it was catchy, but because it was true in a way I hadn’t let myself admit.

“Your goodness is my lifter” got me. I’d been trying to lift myself for months—pushing, planning, pretending I was fine. But listening to that line, I realized most of the times I actually stood back up, it wasn’t because I was strong. It was because something else held me up when I didn’t even notice. A text from a friend. A job that didn’t fall through. A night I slept without overthinking for once.

And “everywhere I turn, I see your faithfulness each day”—that one broke me a little. Because it’s easy to say God is faithful when things are good. It’s harder when it’s ordinary Tuesday, Abuja traffic, and you’re just tired. But Ebuka sings it like a fact, not a hope. Like he’s been looking around and actually noticing.

“This kind love I’ve never seen.” Yeah. That’s the line. Because we talk about love a lot. Romantic love, family love, the love you post on Instagram. But this one is different. It doesn’t keep score. It doesn’t leave when you’re messy. It stays overwhelming, even when you forget to notice it.

Since that day, I’ve been catching myself singing it while doing dishes, while stuck in traffic, while lying awake at 2 AM. Not performing it. Just letting it remind me: I’m not holding this life up alone.

That’s why I love “Your Love.” It doesn’t ask me to be perfect to feel it. It just keeps saying, look around. I’m here. I’ve been here.
