Forgive and Forget- What Does The Bible Say?

This message on forgiveness brings to mind what happen between me and my friend.
‎
‎There was a time we had this huge misunderstanding that even our families got involved.
‎
‎I thought the matter had died when we talked and apologized to one another.
‎
‎Her actions later told me otherwise.
‎
‎This opened my eyes on how difficult it is to not hold grudges and forgive.
‎
‎Most times, even when people have no explanation for not letting go, they don't forgive.
‎
‎But when we let the hurt linger in our hearts, it will only separate us and cause more misunderstanding
‎
‎The scripture clarifies that it is only when we have love in our hearts that we can forgive.
‎
‎Real forgiveness comes from a heart that willing to not hold grudges.
‎
‎I learnt from this teaching that forgiveness does not end with just apology but with actually letting go of the hurt.
‎
‎Forgiveness heals both the heart that was hurt and the relationship between the both parties, it also brings peace.
