Social networking has become part of our life’s in such a big way. From Facebooking to tweets, Instagram and YouTube we all have found away to connect to the outside world in a post millennium way

my name is Stephen

I live in a market town just outside of Middlesbrough in the north east of England. I’m 34 and a father to 2 wonderful children.

I work at Quorn Foods as a production operator and have been there for almost 15 years.

I got into blockchains and cryptocurrency when a work colleague stevenwwood@stevenwwood suggested checking out Steemit. I have been blogging now for the last 3 years on various platforms.

I came to Hive when the mirror happened but have only recently started to concentrate my efforts here.

What’s amazing about platforms like the Hive is that you get an insight into other people’s worlds throughout the world and meet amazing people from all corners of the globe.

That being said...

What is equally important in my opinion is also getting to know the people who are a little closer to home and by home I mean here in the U.K..

This opens up a plethora of many different opportunities and with a british attitude, could lead to Being the template for the rest of the world.
Here are a few ideas...

This is an opportunity that you would not want to miss.

The great thing about meet ups are that you get to meet the person/s behind the screen. You get the chance to socialise face-to-face with fellow U.K. members. Imagine how much you could talk about and how better you will get to know each other.
Not only would you be explaining you ideas but you could even showcase your ideas right in front of the platform.

Theses meet ups can be regional like north east meet, north west meet etc etc and be chaired by various organisers. Think live music from talented musicians on the platform. Seminars about blockchains and crypto schemes just to name a few. These local meets could build to national annual meet ( think Hive fest U.K. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§) where all groups come together once a year and have a big festival. The money can be raised from the local meets and put towards the annual meet by doing auctions, raffles you name it.

As you can see, this idea has me excited and one person that is embracing this idea is c0ff33a@c0ff33a who is looking at having a meet up in Halifax this coming September.

No it’s not a form of torture, nor has it got anything to do with boats. It’s simply about bringing in new members.

On-boarding is the name given to inviting and educating new members to the platform.
Ok, I know we can do this from the comfort of our own homes and a lot of people are doing just that through social media platforms like Twitter.

One person that is a pioneer in this field is theycallmedan@theycallmedan who has setup an onboarding website https://hiveonboard.com/ and is also leading the pack through his Twitter account theycallmedan@theycallmedan_ #hive.

But where do we in the U.K. fall into this. Well, imagine if you had a team of people that lives within your area and you decided to hold local seminars at universities, colleges and town halls. You could also setup a canvassing campaign in your areas, teaching people about blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, decentralisation and of course inviting them to join the network.

Thats just two ideas that little old me has floating around in my in educated kind so imagine what just a small team of people could achieve.
