Der Spitzname hat sich Madeira also sichtlich verdient, tolle Vegetation und eine enorme Abwechslung auf der Insel selbst. In wenigen Kilometern ist man weg vom Strand, in urwaldähnlichen Wäldern oder sogar ganz oben auf den Gipfeln, wo der Schnee weiss glänzt.
