Splinterland card review: Pirate archer
This week battle challenge is about the Pirate archer so let’s review it.
Pirate archer is must have water monster card. With only 2 of mana cost is a really affordable monster, plus the blast ability is always nice to have.
When to use it
Like any monster with blast ability, this monster is perfect for a target practise setup. As I detailed in my article about the topic, when a monster with blast ability have the snipe ability too, they will target a monster with 2 neighbours instead of one: so 2 blast effects instead of one.
As a low cost monster it is also nice to use for equalizer setup.
Battle example
Let’s take this battle as example.
Setup
Target practice
Heavy hitters
Mana cap 25
My lineup
Summoner : DRAKE OF ARNAK
SEA MONSTER This is my standard water tank. Moreover a tank with healing ability is nice to have for target practice setup
FURIOUS CHICKEN will get the first hit from the snipe attacks.
SERPENTINE MYSTIC I like the monster as it has a good hit point/mana ratio.
NAGA WINDMASTER In a target practice game it is nice to limit long range strength of your opponent.
PIRATE ARCHER Blast ability is power-up by the target practice.
FIRE SPITTER This is my most powerful long range monster.
The enemy lineup
The outcome
This was quite an easy victory as my enemy didn't invest in an heavy tank to counter my sea monster.
