
Post 9: Rituals by the Sea, and the Tree That Nearly Crushed Me
During my military service in Korea, I was stationed at a coastal guard post. What I experienced there still unsettles me today.
There was a small fishing dock below Post 9. At night, I often witnessed shamanic rituals being performed by the water. And behind the post stood a massive tree, strange in its presence—ominous, electric, watching.
One day, while clearing the area with a sergeant, that tree almost fell on me. We stopped cutting it down after that. Even the officers said,
“That place has strange energy. Better not to disturb it.”
Was it a warning? A guardian spirit? Or something older?
