Blooming cactus - Chamaecereus

Out of four cacti of this type, this one has the largest flowers! And it is the only one with rounded petals. Normally the end are very pointy.

Among more advanced cacti growers this time is called a weed :D. It grows fast and produces multiple offshoots. If course it doesn't stop them having multiple pots with different flowers. Some of the hybrids are pretty rare with gigantic, multicolored flowers. Those are also pretty expensive. Nice weeds :)

I am guessing that my one has some name, but I never bothered to look for it. There is so many similar blooms and registered names that it is just confusing. And with hybrids grown from seeds you never know too.

I find this type (Chamaecereus) one of the easiest to pollinate. Even when I don't do anything, I get a fruit. It could be that some insect did it, though I hardly see any around my cacti, or they self-pollinate.
But with so many little ofshoots growing all over the main plant, I don't think I will bother. I will do remove one or two this year and plant them separately. I really like this one and I want to have a backup. Growing them from a cutting is also a lot easier and they reach blooming size much faster.

I mentioned the flowers is HUGE and has this lovely coral shade with green center. The plant is rather small and as I looked at photos from 2 years ago, it didn't even grow much. I did repot it to larger pot, but it probably just doubled in size.
I like that it stays more chubby and compact.
