I'm pleasantly surprised to see interest in some of the posts I wrote days (or even weeks) ago, including the one titled: Managing Expectations in Football and in Life.

I usually prefer to write what I call "life" posts that are about actual events that have happened to me in my life, or that share my thoughts on issues of the day and/or illuminate my innermost thoughts or mindset.

To me this is a nice break from the plethora of crypto-focused articles that are a mainstay here on Hive, and may actually help someone else during their daily walk.

Years ago, I read a series of posts on Steemit about a man who worked at a little store in a developing country. I may have been his only reader, but I was transfixed by his daily interactions with the customers that streamed into the little shop that he worked in, as well as life in general in his village.

Sadly, one day I logged in, but he was no more, one of the many we've lost over the years for one reason or another, but the memory of those posts managed to stay with me over the years.

I encourage new authors on Hive to inject a dose of life into your posts. This marks them as original creations as opposed to the AI-generated slop that many overseas "authors" are now becoming known for.

The other benefit is that your audience gains in the knowledge learned by the solutions you've shared to the problems we all encounter day after day.

Honestly, If my post about almost falling overboard when I was in the Navy ends up helping even one person to hang on and don't give up when you run into problems, it'll have been worth it.

That old saying "If you're going through hell, keep going" couldn't be truer. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually you'll come out on the other end. And then, write about your experience on Hive, so that you can help someone else down the line.
