How to Point a Domain to VPS Server?
1.Install a web server on your vps(ex:-apache2).
2.Email your VPS support team and ask them to setup rdns towards the domain you wish to connect.
3.Open your Domain register’s website and choose manage option on the domain you wish to connect.
4.after that click on manage dns on the nameservers section.
5.in the manage dns(advanced dns) settings there will be an option to Add Records.
6.click on Add a New Record then give host name “@” Record Type as “A(Address) ” or “A Record” and in the address section enter the ip address of your vps.(ex: “192.168.1.0”)
7.Again click on Add a New Record then give host name as “www” Record Type as “CNAME” and enter the domain name you wish to connect in the address section.(ex: “yourdomain.com”)
8.Again click on Add a New Record then give host name as “@” Record Type as “MX(Mail)” and enter the domain name you wish to connect in the address section as before (ex:-“yourdomain.com”) Then set priority to 1 and save it all.
9.After a few minutes try visiting to your website and you will be pointed towards the website hosted on your vps.
