In 2018, Maslenitsa begins on February 12 and will last until February 18 inclusive.

Maslenitsa was the longest popular holiday. Slavs believed that if "you do not make fun of the wide Maslenitsa means you live in bitter trouble," so our ancestors strictly observed all traditions and never forgot the main symbols: pancakes and scarecrow. It was believed that along with ruddy, hot pancakes, like the sun, a person is transferred to the energy and power of the luminary. And in the ritual burning of a scarecrow, a deep meaning was invested: the destruction of the symbol of winter is necessary for the resurrection of its power in the spring in cereals.
The last day of Maslenitsa - the most important - is Forgiveness Sunday. In temples in the evening service, the rank of forgiveness is performed (the priest asks forgiveness from other clergymen and parishioners). Then all believers, bowing to each other, ask forgiveness and in response to the request they say "God will forgive."

This Sunday I went to my grandfather's village. My younger cousin also came.

In the morning we repaired the moped.

Then our relative came from fishing and shared the catch. Here's the fish.
