Lending Platforms in Cryptocurreny?

Since the surge of Bitcoin in the media , lending platforms are popping up left and right, almost on a weekly basis now. I'm going to be covering Lending Platforms as it pertains to Cryptocurrencies and also documenting my journey but I'm curious, how do you guys feel about Lending Platforms?

Are they just a cash grab that will ultimately lead to an exit scam? Are they initially done with good intentions but due to heavy regulations and government interference will succumb to a cease and desist or some form of forced closure? Or will be see a successful, long running, lucrative cryptocurrency lending platform?

What are your thoughts?
