Hello to the whole community. I had the opportunity to visit the Jinchuan District Science and Technology Museum in Gansu Province, China.
This museum showcases the history of the discovery, exploration, and mining of the Jinchuan copper-nickel mine in its entirety, which is the third-largest deposit in the world. However, its greatest value lies in being one of the most important mining and metallurgical centers in China.
In the museum, you can observe exhibits of rocks and minerals, including cobalt, nickel, and copper, as well as real heavy drilling machinery and virtual reality experiences to immerse yourself in deep mining.
It has an impressive hall that simulates a journey into the cosmos, explained through a large screen. It also features translucent models on interactive tables, touch screens, and digital flows that detail the complex engineering involved. Refined, high-purity products (plates, wire coils, metal powders) ready for use in the modern technology industry are also on display.
The wall featuring outstanding mine workers and the corporate awards received is also a highlight.
I, in particular, loved this museum, especially the cosmos hall. I also really liked the people of Jinchuan and the food; in contrast to Beijing, the people of Gansu are more welcoming and happy.
