I do not know what must have prompted Lade to argue that adulthood is a scam, but I see it from a completely different point of view. To be an adult may not be easy, but life in general is never easy. Adulthood as a matter of fact is a stage of life, and like every stage of life, it comes with it challenges. But then, it does not just come with challenges, it also got provillages, provillages that we must acknowledge too. I think Lade failed to acknowledge those provillages in her song Adulthood Anthem.

It was never holistic, and that is the problem. Adulthood is never a scam, neither is childhood, and that can only be understood if we put both the advantages and disadvantages of being one into consideration.
