Mastercard integrates cryptocurrencies!

According to an official announcement, credit card giant Mastercard opens cryptocurrencies and wants to offer appropriate services to banks, merchants and customers.

Soon any bank and merchant connected to the Mastercard network will be able to offer crypto-customer services. This means that millions of people will soon be able to use their Mastercard credit card to pay with cryptocurrencies such as BTC or ETH.

Consumers should also be able to buy, sell and hold digital assets via deposit wallets operated by the Bakkt platform. It also promises loyalty and reward programs that are paid for in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets.

Cooperating companies will receive crypto rewards for their card payments. So if you pay with your Mastercard and a Bitcoin deposit in the future, you could get cashback in the form of BTC.

For crypto integration, Mastercard cooperates with the crypto financial service provider Bakkt. The price of the company (BKKT) rose after the announcement prompt 180%

With 35 million subscribers and 2. 8 billion plastic cards issued, Mastercard is one of the world’s largest payment service providers. The message is quite relevant for the crypto adoption. Although the crypto sector is becoming more and more accessible even for less tech-savvy people, there were still a few hurdles to be overcome before investing. Crypto-as-a-Service integration of Mastercard integrations should make cryptocurrencies more suitable for everyday use.
