two birds, one reflection
here's a curious reflection, not so much because of what is reflected but more so what isn't. while there are clearly two terns in the photo only one of them is reflected. because of the low angle of the shot the two terns appear to be close together side by side. actually though there is more distance between them than first meets the eye so only the nearest one is reflected in the pool at the salt flat. a closer look reveals that the legs of the rear tern are reflected in the water between the two mounds of the salt flat. had i taken the shot from a higher angle then both reflections would certainly be visible, though not side by side. the photo also features reflections of the mounds themselves. adding a little mystery is the unidentified vertical reflection at the top right of the shot.
happy hunting
