Hello guys! Long time no write. How are you? I have been ill for some days, and haven't prioritized hive as much, but I had some energy to start a new project! I have for a while wanted to make a feather top. But I didn't spend time to find a bra that would fit or buy the feathers I needed. I was a little bit afraid that it would be bad too, so I didn't take much photos of the project.

I first started to find a bra that fitted good around the waist, and it was a must that I could remove the straps. It's really nice if you can use a bra that you already have, but I bought a new one just because I wanted a perfect fit, and a bra that covers more so the feather bra looks even better.

You need:

• A lot of feather. I think I used about 10 meters, but I'm buying 5 meters extra, just to fill in some spots. I ordered it on ebay.com.
• A fabric glue. I use a glue from my local hobby shop, but I see a lot of people using E6000 glue.
• Scissors to cut the feather string.

I started with placing the feather facing down on the bottom on the bra. Remember to only place it facing down with 2-3 feathers, and the rest of the feathers should facing upwards on the rest of the bra.

I also decided to glue two and two feather strings together, so it looks thicker. I felt that the satin ribbon on the feathers was easily shown, but it was easy to prevent it: just add more feathers!

As you see on the picture down below I work my way upwards with the feathers. I use what I have to keep the feathers in place while I glue the next feathers on... if you know what I mean. The reason is I want the feather to bend a little bit down while gluing the next feathers on. So when I wear it the feathers wouldn't stand as much upwards.

Don't put the feathers on the part of the bra that are stretchy, because it wouldn't stick to the bra. You can try to do it, but I recommend to cut the feathers in small pieces, but I don't think it would look good.

After I put all the feathers on, there was a few spots I wanted to cover and the feathers didn't fill in as much as I wanted. I chose to put a few feathers facing the opposite directions a few places.

The more feather you glue on the bra, the better. I have actually ordered 5 meter extra so I can fill inn some spots even more.

Here are the result:

I spent around 15$ on the bra. 30-40$ on the feathers, and the glue was something I already had. If I wanted to buy a top like this from the store, it would be much more. I guess 100-200$.

I was afraid that it wouldn't turn out as good as I wanted, but it looks much better on, because the feathers are bending down as they should and hiding the satin ribbon.

How to embrace the look:

I think it looks amazing with some high waisted dress pants, and I also have the same pants (that's shown in picture) in a blazer, and I think that would look amazing with too. I wouldn't have had much accessories because the top is much as it is. I'm not going to wear any skirt to it either, because the top makes the outfit.

I don't really know when I'm supposed to wear it because I'm not going out as much😂. But I guess I will use it when I'm going on vacation to USA next year. Some glam is never wrong on vacation. It was also a fun project, and I enjoyed doing it.
