Alicante tips
Hi everybody , hope you had a nice trip to Alicante
Since I moved here a few years ago , wanto to give you some tips about beaches :
First this is the weather forecast :
Water temperature will be around 18 Celsius , that is considered to be COLD over here , so whoever you see having a swim in the water it is not probably Spaniard , for sure do not live in south Spain !
so let's check the pictures :
This first picture is from "El Postiguet" beach which is barely 500 meters from ULAB .if you are scared of the sea this is the perfect beach for you to go into the water , there is not way you get drawn but a heart stroke
But if you want to have a nice walk with a wide open view you should go a little further to playa de San Juan , here you will find a mix of Spaniards families and european tourists
You may take a tram which will leave you there in 20 minutes , tram tickets fare is quite cheap ( around 5 Euros for 10 journeys) , you should get on the "Mercado" station , which is 100 meters from ULAB
So , where do the "Alicantinos" go ?
Sand beaches look very beatiful on a picture but you get a lot of sand with you when you leave the beach
Plus they get very crowded on summer times plenty of tourists from Spain and Europe
So we love rock isolated beaches , water is much cleaner , is full of fishes , octopus ...
And where al this wonderful rock beaches are ?
Well does something you will learn when you make friends over here , sorry but we need some special spots just for us : )
And what about food?
Well , you will find literally hundred of places to eat next to ULAB
French , Italian , Spanish , Lebanese ... whatever you can think okf
And price will be probably quite cheap compared to north Europe
But for those of you who wants to try a little bit of local taste or want to pay the local price I will tell you a tip :
Spanish and Portuguese food times are different to the rest of Europe ( at least the places I have visited)
Breakfast time is something between 8 and 12
Launch time is around 3pm , after that is "siesta" time , specially in summer
Dinner is between 9 to 10:30 ..
So places which are crowded at that times are the one locals go .....
Hope you find this useful , see you on Thursday
