War, Starvation And Suffering-What can Be Done Biblically? (Part 2)

God, in His mercy, gives humanity early warnings so that we can be prepared for what lies ahead. These warnings are meant to draw our attention back to Him, reminding us of the need to fear Him, honor Him, and live in obedience to His word. In times of war, famine, and suffering, the question we must ask is: what does the Bible teach us to do in such situations?

There is a clear answer to the challenges facing the world today. These problems are not limited to poor nations alone—even wealthy countries like the United States and several parts of Europe are experiencing similar struggles. From global crises to widespread hardship, the difficulties we see around us reflect a deeper issue: human disobedience and a growing disregard for God’s laws and instructions.

This message is not new; it was already declared in the Bible when God spoke to His people during the time of Moses. In Deuteronomy 28:15, it is written that if people refuse to listen to the voice of the Lord their God and fail to obey His commandments and statutes, then various consequences will come upon them and overtake them.

Verse 16 further explains that hardship will affect every aspect of life, both in the city and in the field. Likewise, verse 18 highlights that even the fruit of the body, the produce of the land, livestock, and flocks will be impacted.

These passages serve as a strong reminder that obedience to God is essential, and turning away from His word brings serious consequences for individuals and nations alike.
